Is 30 Days Enough?

How could anyone forget the death of Tyler Clementi? His roomate, Dharun Ravi, who used a remote webcam from his dorm to spy on Clementi in an intimate encounter with another man in September 2010. Days later Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge at 18-years-old. Ravi was facing as much as 10 years in state prison and was sentenced yesterday, May 21, to a 30-day term in the county jail for intimidation and invading the privacy of his roomate. I can't believe Ravi is only recieving 30 days. That is disgusting. I believe that this man should recieve life in prison or at least longer then just a month. Everyone has their own opinion but this is just wrong and not fair to Clementi's family. For the full story visit this site.

EDC: My Experience

This past weekend was the best weekend of my life! EDC was such an unbelievable experience!! I've never danced so much and my ears are still ringing as I'm writing this post which is pretty annoying but definately worth it. I'm so happy that the weather was so beautiful because now it's suppose to rain for the rest of the week. :( Below are a few pictures I took while at EDC. My favorite part was definately seeing Afrojack. Somehow I managed to get front row and Afrojack absolutely killed it! I can't wait to go back again next year!!! For more information about the experience and this past weekend visit EDC NYC's site here.

The Golden State

This past weekend has been a success in Jersey for both musical festivals, Bamboozle and Electric Daisy Carnival. Sgt. Connie Breech of the Asbury Park police department said, "People thought this was going to be some kind of crazy weekend but people were well behaved." Electric Daisy on the other hand is a controversial gathering because there have been mass arrests and drug overdoses at other tour stops. Quoted from this article, "New Jersey was the center of the musical universe over the weekend and the fests were a shining success, proving that loud, frantic sounds do not necessarily induce destructive behavior. Not in Jersey, at least."

Clearing Confusion

Just to be clear, on my previous post, "Rumor Has It," the law about texting being illegal while in Fort Lee is just a RUMOR. It seems that all of the comments on the post say how crazy this new law is. The actual law is that you cannot jay walk in the town of Fort Lee. This just shows how easily information can be misread and how the media can give out the wrong facts. Such a huge problem we have in today's society. Make sure you read carefully people! :)

Visit this site and read under UPDATE for the correct information

Morning Wake Up

Jump start your day without jump starting your car. If you're a Jersey girl you're probably always on the run or always in a rush. That's just how we are and like to live a fast-paced life. Dunkin' Donuts provides you with drinks and food that provide you with enough energy to get through the day that could be made in less than a minute. There is almost a Dunkin' Donuts in every town so visit their website for the nearest location. The newest drink at Dunkin' Donuts is the Black Cocoa Creme Iced Coffee to promote the movie Men In Black 3 which comes out in theaters on May 25. I just tried this drink the other day and I must say it's pretty delicious. It tastes like cookies n' cream so if you like that flavor definitely try this drink out!

DTS for MDW

It seems that everyone from North NJ always flocks down the shore for Memorial Day Weekend. Whether it's Seaside Heights or Wildwood, prepare for a long car ride for wherever you're traveling to. The Garden State Parkway is not a fun time during any holidays. If you're going down the shore there are plenty of things to do such as show off your beach body at one of the many beaches, entertain yourself while on the board walk and see "Jersey Shore" wanna-bees, or see some pretty fireworks. If you're one of the not so lucky ones who won't be going dts that weekend, like myself, there is still plenty of things to do. Check out your local towns website or surrounding towns to see if there are any parades going on or any firework shows. Or host your own BBQ and spend some times with good friends and family. Also, try to remember what MDW is all about. Of course it's the weekend when all pools and beaches offically open and it's a preview of how the summer will be; but it's also a time to remember all of the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War.

Rumor Has It

Texting while walking is illegal?!

This is definitely qualifies under #jerseygurlprobz. How could they do such a thing?!? "Thank you Jesus" (Melissa Gorga voice) that this is just a rumor that the media got mixed up. The real truth is that in the town of Fort Lee, NJ, it is illegal to jaywalk, and texting while walking is only illegal if you are jaywalking too. Last year 74 pedestrians were hit in Fort Lee which is the main reason why this law went into effect. There is a $54 jaywalking ticket and more than 117 tickets have been already issued. So text away while walking just make sure to be careful when approaching cross walks and make sure you don't bump into anyone or anything.
