This past weekend has been a success in Jersey for both musical festivals, Bamboozle and Electric Daisy Carnival. Sgt. Connie Breech of the Asbury Park police department said, "People thought this was going to be some kind of crazy weekend but people were well behaved." Electric Daisy on the other hand is a controversial gathering because there have been mass arrests and drug overdoses at other tour stops. Quoted from this article, "New Jersey was the center of the musical universe over the weekend and the fests were a shining success, proving that loud, frantic sounds do not necessarily induce destructive behavior. Not in Jersey, at least."
I think it's great that New Jersey can be a positive center of attention for once. I think it is natural that there were a few arrests at each concert, but this is as good for the reputation of the bands as well as for the state. If people can be well behaved at events where louder groups are performing, people will stop automatically associating them with being a bad influence.
ReplyDeleteI went to Bamboozle and I loved it. There was so many people there all enjoying the same kind of music. It's a great experience.
