Rumor Has It

Texting while walking is illegal?!

This is definitely qualifies under #jerseygurlprobz. How could they do such a thing?!? "Thank you Jesus" (Melissa Gorga voice) that this is just a rumor that the media got mixed up. The real truth is that in the town of Fort Lee, NJ, it is illegal to jaywalk, and texting while walking is only illegal if you are jaywalking too. Last year 74 pedestrians were hit in Fort Lee which is the main reason why this law went into effect. There is a $54 jaywalking ticket and more than 117 tickets have been already issued. So text away while walking just make sure to be careful when approaching cross walks and make sure you don't bump into anyone or anything.

  1. This is so funny and so true. People are constantly walking into the street without looking due to texting on their phones. It sounds funny that their is a law for this but I think it might do some good so people don't get hit anymore.

  2. This new law is somewhat crazy but I think it will be helpful. I feel like people get so into texting while walking they don't pay any attention to what is going on around them. They start walking slow and sometimes just stop when they get a text. I think this is a really funny law but probably will prevent many people from being hit by cars.
